Becca Phelps-Smith graduated from the University of Maryland University College with a Bachelor of Science degree, and received a Master’s of Science degree at Capella University. Throughout her undergraduate and graduate years, Rebecca worked in various positions within the behavioral health field, including as a residential case worker, community support worker, family stabilization worker and outpatient mental health therapist. She also worked for various agencies including The Key Program, Berkshire Children and Families, Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children and the Carson Center.
In 2007, Rebecca worked part-time at both the Brien Center’s Crisis Team and at Berkshire Medical Center. She joined the Brien Center as a full-time employee, beginning as a crisis clinician and eventually moving up into supervisory positions.
She returned to graduate school and earned a Master of Social Work degree from Springfield College in 2015. She has since obtained both a LCSW and LICSW.
In 2016, Rebecca was named Division Director of the Brien Center’s Acute Care/Emergency Services.
