PITTSFIELD – Timothy P. Burke, managing director at Mill Town Capital in Pittsfield, has been named to the Brien Center Board of Directors. His appointment was announced today by M. Christine Macbeth, ACSW, LICSW, president and chief executive officer of the agency.
“Tim is joining our organization at a very exciting time,” Macbeth said. “We’ve made many advancements over the last few years to keep pace with ever-changing healthcare policy, community needs and technology. He brings many strategic skills that will help us as we continue this process.”
A Pittsfield native, Burke earned an MBA from the McCallum Graduate School of Business at Bentley University, and an undergraduate degree in corporate finance and accounting from Bentley College. He returned to Pittsfield in 2016 after 15 years in the Boston area, where he held senior financial management positions in the biotech industry.
“From what I’ve seen since returning home, there are few organizations that have the kind of comprehensive program offerings as the Brien Center,” Burke said. “I feel that my background as a Pittsfield native and my professional experience could add value to the Board and to an organization that makes a significant impact on thousands of individuals and families in our community.”
The Brien Center for Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services is a community-based, non-profit agency providing a continuum of care for children, adolescents, adults and families who suffer from serious and persistent behavioral health disorders. Last year, the agency served over 10,000 people from Berkshire County, including 4,000 children.
